  1. Although Karl Popper is not even mentioned in this book review, Tim Ferris seems to be an unapologetic positivist and must be a Popper fan. The review reminds me of the never ending debate between Materialism, Idealism and Positivism, three sides to a thought triangle which might well have many more sides. Naturally, the philosophers have trouble keeping up with the scientists, especially when it comes to quantum mechanics. Popper made attempts of dealing with the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in a thought model not unlike Einstein/Podolski/Rosen (God doesn't role dice). I feel always drawn to engineer like positivism (and scientific methods) but have read too much Marx and Bloch to not be skeptical about these liberal science based philosophical models which ulimately seem to worship a Newtonian science already repudiated by quantum physics. All I know is that which each piece of knowledge things get even more complicated than I thought the day before.
